These shoes are made for strutting!

I felt good today.

The weather was great; the food tasted great (even if the whipped cream melted and DISSOLVED. It was my first time to discover that whipped cream when left to humidity and heat can dissolve.); there was no traffic to deal with. Lastly, my mom and I shopped 'til we drop. It felt relaxing that I need not to worry about how much was already spent or if it would be okay to buy more than one pair.

So what am I talking about? Well, today was a shoe-pping experience for me and my mom. We had fun picking out what shoes we would be wearing for an event this coming March 31. I can also say that we made good choices on the shoes because we walked on them for 5 minutes around the stores we went into and we got discounts for some pairs we bought. How cool is that :)

Here are the photos of the shoes we bought:

Charles & Keith Catalog for every purchase.

My mom's cute shoes.

Got this baby for a discounted price! My mom loves it :)

Buy 1 Take 1 Promo. Plus, 50 Php off because I presented my school I.D.

'til the next post!

Locker treasure.

Two of my friends rented out a locker in our school building for the convenience of having a place to store  things which they would not be able to take home immediately and was not needed at home (books, readers, papers, and all academic stuff haha). Eventually, the whole gang would store their stuff on this one tiny blue locker. I guess that's what friends are for. I love you dudes, you know who you are :) But this post is not about the locker or the friendship we have (well, partly). This is about a little treasure I found while trying to fit all my things inside the already crowded locker ( 5:1 is the ratio. Five people, one tiny locker).

Ta-da! Gladwell's The Tipping Point.
I was surprised to see this book inside the locker, since I never noticed it before. Of course the curious side of me wanted to read it so badly that I asked my friend (the one who owns the locker) if I could borrow. It turns out that the book belongs to another friend who like me, shared the locker with the real owners :).

The reason why I wanted to read this book is because my professor recommended it of the connection between my course and this book. However, I would not know about this book if not for my professor. So yeah, I read it because my professor said it's a great book worth reading. He said, it is a book that everyone like me should read. I am still in the first few pages, but I am already awed by how it opened my mind to such perspectives. Simple, practical but it works. We just have to think about the different aspects and lay it down to see the whole plan.

PS. To my dear friend,
Dude, I am so tempted to use my highlighters and write down scribbles and notes on the book. But don't worry, I'm just tempted :)

Calorie Hunt.

Warning: This post is not for those who are eager to be 'serious' in their diet.

I remember, when I was young, I'd be willing to let my parents leave me alone and work abroad because I know when they return I would have lots of pasalubong. True enough, when they come home, I am my own party. Why? I was being surrounded with all sorts of sweets. I have big, small, in round cases, foiled, white, dark, and milky - in short, chocolates.

I have been eating these chocolates for quite some time now, and I have been forcing myself not to devour eat everything in an instant. Sadly, the chocolates lasted only for three weeks, to think there were five chocolates, since I discovered their existence. I was planning to make them last longer until summer so I can chew on them whenever anxiety attacks happen (due to job hunting jitters).

Oh well. There are in a safer place now - fully used and digested. However, as I was opening the last piece of these yummy, creamy and oh-so-nutty chocolates, I wondered when will be the next time I will be able to eat them again. It is actually a European treat, so I'd reckon it would be easy to get them. But I am hoping that somehow, there is a shop/resto/cafe or anywhere here in Manila that I can buy these kind of chocolates. I'm putting my fingers crossed.

I can't (as of this moment) do a short review on the taste and texture of this chocolate, because as of this moment, my stomach is already sending signals that I am hungry. So I'll just post pictures in hope that I'd be able to get my hands on these soon.

Closer look. See the whole nuts. Yum!
Just a reminder though,  this is not meant to ruin your fasting and abstinence. Because after all, we are still celebrating the season of Lent.

'til next post,

Ciao,

Maddie :)

125 Fantastic Years and Going

Hey there!

Although the start of my year was rather shaky (school stuff and personal matters), it was immediately replaced by a very big smile on my face (I mean, a really BIG smile on my face). I won in Avon's 11-1-11 contest! How cool is that! Actually, I never expected that I'd win (there were thousands of other girls who tried their luck), so imagine my joy when I learned about it. My friend Pol (also my competition buddy LOL) was the first one who informed me about it, because I do not regularly check updates in Facebook. As it turns out, Pol also won in said contest :)

Anyhow, here is an image of the contest of Avon in celebration of their 125 years of making women feel worth it:

The contest's mechanics were pretty simple; just share to Avon what is your New Year's Resolution is. Then viola! You've got a golden ticket in your hand. You also have to include what lipstick color would you want to win (this part saddened me a little though).

Here are the pics from my lovely prize:

THE Prize

L-R: Lava Love, Knock-out Pink and Barely There

Mocha Goddess

As of the moment, I have yet to use the eyeshadow ( I am still beginning to love eye make-up). But for the lipstick, IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST TRY! The funny thing is, the color I indicated for my entry was not included in the prize (I picked Island Glow), and the same thing goes for Pol (Coral Fantasy). I was a little disappointed because I was really expecting to have Island Glow. Especially since I read at Project Vanity that Island Glow is comparable to NYX's Fig. But, over-all, the experience of owning these products is beyond words (I always wear Avon UMR).

Thank you Avon for hosting such a wonderful contest!

I pray for more Avon goodies :D

'til next post!

Relieved that I can now blog.

Holaa!

Phew! It seems like I missed my creative side so much (No, I don't paint. I just think of random senseless stuff LOL!) that I am itching to write already. Unfortunately, I need to get some Zzz right now since February was a furious month for me (Hello to cramped-school-stuff!). So, this would be another short post saying I.missed.writing. free-flowing. thoughts.Period.

On the bright side, tomorrow I'll be starting to write normal posts again. Yey! I have already a mental note of what I should write about, so I'll be pretty busy this week. To give a background on what I am going to write, here is a rundown of some topics:

  • Food
  • Book
  • Beauty (I'd want another one. Stress reliever.)

Well, I got to sleep already. My eye bags are screaming help already. LOL!

'Til next post,

Ciao,

Maddie
